Biden’s Ticket to the White House – But Will the Public Pay the Fare
Former Vice President Joe Biden and presumptive nominee for the Democratic nomination is close to naming the members of his Vice Presidential search panel this week, with the goal of naming two to three potential running mates for final vetting.
Earlier this year, Biden decided to play gender politics and made the public commitment to naming a woman as his running mate. Therefore, several prominent names of female politicians come to the forefront, including those who joined Biden on the debate stage but failed to secure the necessary votes and support, as in Sen. Elizabeth Warren, (D-MA) and Sen. Amy Klobuchar.
Also, entering into the mix is former Georgia Democratic gubernatorial candidate, Stacy Abrams, who makes no apologies that she views herself as a contender to be taken seriously, and that she is seriously concerned about Biden not picking a woman of color.
“I think Vice President Biden is going to make a smart choice, and I appreciate the fact that he has lifted up women as being a necessary partner in this. I would share your concern about not picking a woman of color because women of color, particularly black women, are the strongest part of the Democratic Party.”
In addition to Ms. Abrams, we also have, Governor Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan, a highly contentious state for this year’s election. Conventional political wisdom says that you choose a Vice-Presidential running mate from a state you need to win both in the popular vote and the electoral college. And Gov. Whitmer is certainly making a name for herself via COVID-19.
Alas, all four of these women, however qualified or not you believe them to be, may not get the green light should Michelle Obama, the stealth candidate silently off most radars, quietly signal behind the scenes, she would accept the nomination.
Anyone who has watched recent televised interviews and snippets of the former Vice President, can see, or sense, that all is not well with Joe. Biden, himself, accentuated the necessity of choosing a running mate who could step in and run the country, should he die in office.
“But for me, it has to be demonstrated that whoever I pick is two things: One, is capable of being president because I’m an old guy,”
But why would Michelle have the edge over governors or senators, with legislative and/or governing experience, where Michelle has none? Even Hillary Clinton, former First Lady, had the smarts to carpetbag her way to New York, be elected Senator, followed by accepting the Obama olive branch as Secretary of State, before she ran for the highest office in the land.
What Michelle has is the Obama walk on water, “the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal” name. And she also has Barack and his Deep State, the Swamp, and the DNC’s party structure behind her. These powerful factions are already looking at the numbers, and some of the numbers indicate tremendous support among black women voters that could counterpunch Trump’s growing support in the Black community.
“According to presidential exit polls dating back to at least 1972, black women have supported the Democratic presidential nominee in every election by at least 86% or more. In 2016, 96% of black women supported the Democratic ticket.”
Michelle, herself, is either an admired First Lady as witnessed in the public reaction to her book, Becoming, or one who has been vilified for her school lunch police program where according to a GAO report, over 1 million children opted out of the program due to food choices. And sure to haunt her if she runs, her more notorious statement about being proud of her country for the first time, which had its origins in her Princeton thesis.
But make no mistake, while she has said she is not interested in running for President, or any other elective office, minds can be easily swayed and changed. The DNC, and their Congressional, state and local minions entwined in the party structure, know that Biden would be lucky to survive his first term, and most likely he could easily be controlled, while in office, by the Cabinet and government appointees selected by the Deep State.
Consider this scenario. Biden knows he is not a well man. He knows that he needs to deliver as strong a knock-out punch as he can in the election, and needs a running mate who is articulate, known widely by the public, and does not shy away from expressing strong opinions or delivering barbed comebacks when attacked.
Biden needs formidable wins in both the Presidential and Vice-Presidential debates. Democrats know Republicans have proven that they are skittish in verbally attacking or portraying negative ads against national black candidates – think John McCain and Mitt Romney. In today’s election atmosphere, Trump may be willing to take on candidate Michelle, but could also be perceived as a bully. Michelle, on the other hand, would be only too eager to hand Trump his head on the silver platter, smiling all the time.
Should a Biden/Obama ticket win the election, Biden, shortly after a reasonable amount of time, decides to resign the Presidency, or becomes incapacitated due to failing health, and Michelle Obama takes the reins of government. And the Obamas, with their Leftist agenda, Valerie Jarrett, and the John Brennans and Jim Comeys of the world, come back into power. Former President Obama, himself, could be named to the Supreme Court replacing Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who has been hanging onto her position despite her poor health, for just this moment, and Michelle, in her own right, could run for re-election in 2024.
Fantasy? Fiction? Or plausible? You decide and tell me where I’m wrong.
