Becoming a “manageable problem” – Obama’s delusional view of ISIS

Coming soon to a city near you.  As we approach the annual 9/11 anniversary, we wait for the other proverbial “shoe to drop.”  At least some of us.  With medieval barbarism, now prominent on the world stage in the form of ISIS, and brought into American homes via internet and television, we’re confronted with the real possibility of “it can happen here” again.  With the two recent deaths of American journalists, James Foley and Steven Sotloff, the question becomes what will be the US response.  Our President has spoken:

“Our objective is to make sure they aren’t an ongoing threat to the region.  “We know that if we are joined by the international community, we can continue to shrink ISIL’s sphere of influence, its effectiveness, its military capability to the point where it is a manageable problem.”

Really, Mr. President?   Those are the kind of words that come back to haunt a person.

ISIS is already in the United States.  It is NOT a regional problem.

ISIS in Chicago

One would have to be a fool to believe otherwise.  Our porous Southern border has been an entry point for migrant and felon alike.  Or, considering the alleged number of Americans who went to fight for ISIS, how many have returned home awaiting the call for action when the rest of us least expect it.

FDR, during the Great Depression told Americans, “the only thing we have to fear is fear itself.”  And that phrase was carried through WWII and beyond.  A leader who recognized early on that evil had to be confronted and destroyed abroad because it was only a matter of time before it came to American shores.  Slowly, he worked to rally Americans.  However, it was Pearl Harbor, that woke up the majority after 2000 lives were lost.

9/11 was our 21st century Pearl Harbor, and this President’s delusional view of evil, not seen in this overt state for many decades, not may, but will, lead to more.  A “manageable problem” is something that Valerie Jarrett would say.  But a President of the United States?  God help us all.
