Morning Coffee Break: the Middle Ages in the 21st Century; Harry Reid vs. 1st Amendment; Obamacare comes to broadband; the VA debacle – Friday, May 16, 2014

  • Rick Moran is absolutely right; what century are we living in?  A Sudanese Christian woman sentenced to execution because she’s married to a Christian man.  We have an ongoing war against Christianity in this world, and a Pope who instead of leading the outcry worries about wealth redistribution.
  • So Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) is once again going to war against the Koch Brothers, but this time he’s raising the stakes and duking it out with the First Amendment.  “Amending our Constitution is not something any of us should take lightly, but the flood of special interest money in our American democracy is one of the glaring threats our system of government has ever faced,” he said.  If the Koch brothers were contributing to Democrats, Reid would be silent.
  • FCC Commissioner Ted Wheeler would like to turn the internet into another phone network, so he and his commissioners can regulate its pricing, along with giving individual states a piece of the regulatory action.
  • From the general who brought berets to the average Army corpsman, his genius is on further display at the Veterans Administration.  Platitudes and incompetence while our veterans wait to die.  Enjoy your pension, General, now Secretary Shinseki, because its clear others aren’t enjoying theirs on your watch.
