The alternative universe of the Obama/Clinton foreign policy

There are Muslims and there are Islamic jihadists. Our President’s problem is that he can’t tell the difference. As a result, we have one US embassy compromised, one burned, and four people dead, or rather murdered. We have a dysfunctional State Dept. that feels compelled to apologize for free speech and American values, on of all days, 9/11.  This is further compounded by Secretary Clinton’s recent unfathomable comment, “How could this happen in a country we helped liberate, in a city we helped save from destruction?”  How could this happen?  What alternative universe have you been operating in, Madam Secretary.

On the anniversary date of September 11, when 11 years ago much of the Islamic jihadist world celebrated the fall of the twin towers and murder of three thousand Americans, why should the events of yesterday come as a surprise to anyone, unless you’re the US State Dept or the White House. After all, didn’t White House spokesman, Tommy Vietor, declare back in early May that the “war on terror was over.”  Over the past few months, we have been treated to almost daily reminders that “Obama got Osama.” At the recent DNC, we had Uncle Joe scream that out at us lest we forget. Yeah, spike the football, Barack and Joe; cackle about Khadaffi’s death, Hillary, “we came, we saw, he died.”  How many more Americans are going to be put in harm’s way, and possibly die because of your blunders?

Mitt Romney’s been castigated and taken to task for questioning the US Embassy in Cairo’s apology statement, as well as stating the fact that our foreign policy contributed to this debacle.  Yet, he’s only giving voice to the same questions that millions of us Americans are asking.  Romney’s use of “mixed signals” is an understatement.

This debacle is not over yet, and there’s only so much time before the MSM can no longer cover for him.  The ridiculous notion that these Embassy stormings were caused by a film from some obscure film-maker borders on preposterous.  A handy excuse.  The Middle East has been a simmering powder keg for some time, caused in part by our politically correct foreign policy, in refusing to acknowledge the Islamist jihadist threat.  We hung our strongest regional ally, Israel, out to dry in the hopes of a more balanced approach, as Obama spoke in Cairo back in 2009.  So how’s that balanced approach working for us?

We threw Hosni Mubarak under the bus and supported the rise of a “secular faction” also known as the Muslim Brotherhood.  Now their elected President has cleaned house, replacing the US/Western-leaning General Tantawi and 70 other generals with opportunists and Islamists.  Egypt, who was once a reliable, albeit imperfect ally of the US, is now challenging Iran to be the Mideast sphere of influence.  Meanwhile, the US decides it’s going to forgive $1 billion in loans to Egypt.

Khaddafi, no friend of the US, gave up his pursuit of WMD, and wasn’t exactly a looming threat to world peace, but we sent military aid “on humanitarian grounds” to help in his destruction.  However, we sit on the sidelines as over 20,000 men, women and children have been brutally murdered by their own government in Syria, which is armed by the Russians.

Israel, a long-time ally of the US, who took the brunt of SCUD missiles without responding during our war in Kuwait, has come to realize that they’re on their own now in dealing with Iran.  The so-called sanctions that the US implemented against Iran, watered down by State Dept. waivers, and removal of language by some Senators deemed harmful to the insurance industry’s interests, have done absolutely nothing to stop the Iranian pursuit of a nuclear weapon, as we’ve learned from a recent report by the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Obama doesn’t have time for daily intel briefings, doesn’t have time to meet with Netanyahu, but he has time for Jay-Z, Beyonce, and Letterman.  The evening of the September 12, when more news began streaming in about the overall situation, or rather the mess in Egypt and Libya, Obama flies off to Vegas to fundraise.  But he shouldn’t worry, he has the media to cover for him as he begins to regurgitate the Obama blame game.
