Morning Coffee Klatch – environmentalists, Preezy, the nanny state, and Chick-Fil-A – Thursday, July 26, 2012

This morning we take on the environmentalists, Phase II launch of the President’s re-election effort, the nanny state continues, and lastly an update on Chick-Fil-A in Chicago.

  • Your house or the beetle.  Similar to the snail darter and spotted owl.  The Beetle Burn shows what happens when rational logging policies, that could have helped contain the widespread damage during the recent Colorado wildfires, are thwarted by the likes of the Sierra Club et al.
  • Phase II of the Obama re-election campaign beginning now, Paul Ryan are you ready?  Where in the world is Mitt Romney?
  • Remember when you couldn’t eat meat on Friday (if you were Catholic), now you shouldn’t eat it on Monday.  “USDA newsletter encourages employees not to eat meat…” (h/t The Daily Caller)
  • My “you can’t make this stuff up folder” is bulging.  Chicago Sun-Times, Rahm welcomes help from Farrakhan, ignores anti-Semitic remarks“.  So, you can’t open a business if you believe in man/woman marriage, but you can open a business if you are anti-Semitic, and don’t much care for whites.  Rahm looks the other way when the City’s homicide rate is up 40% and in the national headlines.
